Meets will be held at Barnett Sports Complex 6800 Fairway Dr, Houston 77087
Athletes must participate in one of the three regular-season meets to qualify for the Championship meet (Top 16 league-wide in any event).
Participation in all regular season meets are strongly encouraged to improve seed times and lane assignment/field event position. The more an athlete runs, jumps, throws in competition, the better they run, jump, throw in competition.

Elementary Racers
CtR will participate in the 3rd - 4th grade Elementary Races for the 2020 season. These races start promptly at 8 a.m. at Meets 1, 2 and 3. The fee is $100 regardless of the number of meets attended. Runners must arrive by 7:30 a.m. on meet day. Races are over by 10a.m. and include:
- 100M
- 200M
- 4x100M Relay
All participants can enter all 3 races.
Please note that the GHCAA Elementary Race Coordinator, Coach Marion Jones, advises participation for those students who are mature and well-behaved. All elementary runners will receive a participation ribbon.
Elementary student racers will practice during PE Classes this season with expert guidance from Coach Leach. Sport Physicals are not required.

Select/club athletes (soccer, baseball etc...) are welcome to join the team! We will work around your select team game and practice schedule. Athletes are allowed to attend the meet for their given events and then can leave. See below for mandatory date(s).

WHY TRACK AND FIELD?
Participating in middle school track and field promotes healthy competition, mental fortitude, and encourages young athletes to improve their running, throwing, and jumping ability while promoting teamwork. Track training is one of the most effective ways to increase cardiovascular fitness, core strength, and endurance.
