“My best professors in college were people who had outside careers before coming to education. Early in my career, I thought I might one day ‘retire’ to teach at the college or high school level. The opportunity that God placed in my path was a chance to help drive technology and share my faith at a brand new school in my local parish.”
Tony Croes started working with Christ the Redeemer as an information technology (IT) volunteer in 2002. When the parish planned to open a new school in 2014, he jumped at the chance to help build a technology-driven program from the start. A parishioner at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, Tony was soon seen as an invaluable asset to the school community and is integral in the future growth of CtRCS’s technology efforts. He appreciates the chance to work with children and help them develop an interest in S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) careers.
Tony was born and raised in Houston. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University in 1990. Early positions as a Systems Engineer and Analyst brought Tony to Compaq Computer Corporation in 1997. There he managed two global skills certification programs, first the Accredited Systems Engineer program with Compaq, and then the HP Certified Professional program when Compaq was acquired by Hewlett Packard in 2002. At HP, he later became the Director of Learning Channel Programs for HP partners. Before beginning employment at CtRCS in 2015, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Next Step Learning, Inc.
Tony is a member of the CtR Spring Festival Committee with his wife Beckie, where they coordinate the Live Auction every year. Tony has been married since 1993, has two daughters, Alex and Erin, and lives in Fairfield in Cypress. He enjoys flying (he has his pilot’s license), web development, programming and boating.
