“The excitement and curiosity of a child who is actively learning is one of the most rewarding experiences. To be able to see the world in a fresh new way, through the eyes of a child, is so great.”
Making the transition from public school to private school, Terri King is looking forward to using her artistic and creative side, along with a love of technology, to engage students. She is thrilled to be able to help students grow spiritually while allowing them to make mistakes but still know they are valued.
From the suburbs of Chicago, Terri moved to Houston in 1984 and met her husband shortly after. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on education from Western Governors University, in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2008. After receiving her degree and until her new venture at CtR School, she taught 3rd grade reading, language arts and social studies at Sheridan Elementary. At Sheridan, she was chosen as the English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) Teacher of the Year and was honored at the SHABE banquet. She was also the technology liaison and coordinator for two years.
Terri currently lives in Cypress with her husband, David and two chocolate labs. Her youngest son is a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marines and is currently stationed in North Carolina. Her oldest son lives in Waller, Texas, and is the father to her grandson. Terri enjoys painting, spending time with family, and surfing the internet for fun and engaging web programs to enhance her teaching. She is also a “Cricut” fanatic and can be found crafting late into the evening.
