“Seeing a student ‘get it’ is the best feeling a teacher can have. The relationships that are built within my classroom are priceless and lifelong. I credit that to being in Catholic education where, as a class, we can be more like a family.”
As a young girl, Tamara Freeman always knew she would be a teacher. Although she was a mass communications major with an emphasis in public relations and event planning in college, she took a children’s literature course as an elective, she was hooked again. She graduated in 2005 from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., with her minor in education and marketing.
She was a 4th grade teacher at CtR Catholic School in its inaugural year in 2014 and, before that, worked at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School. She has also worked at the Children’s Courtyard Lab School as a lab school manager, Holy Family Catholic School in Austin, Texas, as a 5th grade teacher and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School in Houston as a middle school teacher. She has been the Director of Student Affairs at CtRCS since fall 2016.
Tamara grew up in Houston and has lived here her whole life. She currently lives in Cypress with her husband, Kenny, who is the Regional Director for Boxer Property. She also has two young children, Jack and Andie Lynne. She enjoys decorating her home, planning parties, scrap booking and reading.
