“I love the feeling of community at CtR. I am looking forward to being in a place that incorporates Catholicism into the education of young ones. Not just from the aspect of religion, but also the structure and discipline it provides.”
Motherhood allowed Michelle Nester to step away from corporate America. After six years away from finance and accounting, she decided to take a different career path and get certified to teach. Now, she feels like she is making a difference.
Michelle grew up in Texas, mostly in areas between Austin and Houston. She received her undergraduate degree in finance from Sam Houston State University in 1998. She completed her master’s in management information systems at Houston Baptist University in 2004. After about six years working with Shell in various financial positions, Michelle took time off to raise two children until they started school. She completed the Alternative Certification Program for Texas Teachers shortly thereafter and began tutoring at Adam Elementary School in 2012. She most recently was a 1st grade teacher at CtRCS and taught at Adam Elementary.
She currently lives in Wortham Estates with her husband of 14 years and two children, who will both attend CtR School in the fall. She is an active member of the Wortham Book Club and enjoys watching movies and listening to music.
