Melinda Garza knows exactly what it is like to be formed in the Catholic faith. After taking the Formation Toward Christian Ministry (FTCM) course at the Chancery with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Melinda was able to become more familiar with her faith and begin seeking deeper ways to cultivate her relationship with Christ.
Melinda is homegrown having been raised in Spring, Texas. In 2013, she received her bachelor’s in psychology from Sam Houston State University. After moving to Cypress and becoming a parishioner at CtR in August 2013, Melinda took a Religious Education Catechetical Module on human development. There she met Director of Religious Education Kathy Kelley and Kathy encouraged her to help with R.E. classes and to enroll in FTCM, a program that deepens one’s understanding of the Catholic faith. After FTCM, in September 2014, Melinda made her parish home her workplace, becoming a R.E. Assistant. She transitioned to being a part of the school staff in October 2016.
She lives in Cypress with her husband, her four kids and her niece.
