“My favorite thing about being a teacher is teaching the ‘whole person.’ I strive to relate to my students on an academic, spiritual and personal level. It is exciting to learn things about my students outside of the classroom (family life, hobbies, sports, etc.).”
Megan Kallus decided she wanted to pursue teaching at a Catholic school during an 8th grade class retreat in 2006 when a young priest said, “Megan, I don’t know what you’re going to end up doing for the rest of your life, but I do know that you’re going to make people smile and be happy.” She never forgot it and knew in her heart that day that God was calling her to teach religion to her students and be a part of a Catholic school.
Megan was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Cleveland, Ohio in the 1st grade.
She is a 2014 cum laude graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She moved to Houston in August of 2014 and began working in Aldine Independent School District at Reece Academy where she taught Kindergarten. Most recently, she was a 2nd grade teacher and junior varsity and varsity assistant soccer coach at St. Anne Catholic School in Tomball. She is currently a parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Community and has sponsored those wishing to become a Catholic through the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults at Christ the Redeemer.
Megan married her husband, Josh, in 2018 and they currently live in Copperfield. She enjoys being outdoors, bike riding, hiking, playing soccer, swimming, working out, and socializing with friends.
