“Through prayer, I felt a calling to be in the classroom. I started out teaching math and science. After four years, I was inclined to share my love of reading! Academic subjects can be interrelated in the classroom and I enjoy using a cross-curriculum approach to bring learning to life!”
Dawn Tamborello is looking forward to sharing her faith journey in the classroom as a 4th grade English language arts and social studies teacher. She is a native Texan who was born and raised in San Antonio. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, she moved to Houston.
Her experience in banking led to working as an oil and gas lender for a Canadian bank. She made the transition to teaching several years ago and was an educator in Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District for 16 years. She said her favorite classroom memories involve students who did not enjoy reading being transformed into enthusiastic readers!
Dawn has been married to her husband, Michael, since 1983. They have three children and one grandchild. They have lived in Copperfield since 1993.Besides reading, Dawn enjoys traveling, especially with her family.
