“I wanted a career that would make a difference in the world and I would love to go to everyday. I was called by God to make this difference in the lives of children. Children are God’s gifts to this world for us to mold and shape into our leaders of tomorrow.”
Ashley Wetwiski said Christ the Redeemer has a unique spirit and was intrigued from the moment she visited the school – she was excited to have the opportunity to be able to be an integral part of the beginning of something wonderful.
Ashley was born and raised in New Orleans, La., where she went to public school and then an all-girls Catholic high school. She previously was a Kindergarten teacher at St. Cletus Catholic School in Louisiana. She has also been a Preschool teacher at Gretna United Methodist in Gretna, La., and a professional photographer.
She moved to Houston in 2014 to work at CtR Catholic School, originally as a Kindergarten teacher. She is looking forward to new experiences as a 2nd grade teacher. She has taught Pre-K 3 and 4 and is also certified to teach through 5th grade. She scored in the top 10 percent of the country on the Principles of Learning and Teaching Praxis. She received her bachelor’s degree in general studies with a focus in education from the University of New Orleans in 2005.
She and her husband, Corey, have two daughters, Brianna and Gabrielle. Ashley enjoys anything artistic, especially designing and decorating for the holidays, photography, cooking, and baking.
