Whether teaching children or adults, it’s so rewarding to watch a learner grow and know you’ve had even a small part in facilitating that growth. And as a teacher, I’m still a learner, too. There are always new skills and knowledge to discover.
Amanda joined the CtRCS faculty in the Summer of 2023 as the Middle School English Language Arts teacher with 15 years of teaching experience.
She worked as a high school English teacher for five years in Round Rock ISD near Austin and 10 years in Cy-Fair ISD. Amanda has also taught at the collegiate level and has served as an adjunct instructor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Education.
Amanda earned bachelor's degrees in English and history from Southwestern University, and a master's degree and doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University.
As a Crusader parent, Amanda said, the school's mission and culture were a driving force in her decision to join the team.
"CtR is such a special place," she said. "From day one, I have felt that my children are safe and loved as they grow both academically and in faith. It’s such an honor to teach in a school that already feels like family, that values rigorous academics centered in Christ."
Amanda and her husband are high school sweethearts and have three children together, all of whom were baptized at the parish.
