“My favorite thing about Catholic education is teaching students the beauty of Catholicism so they are filled with the love of Jesus. It is also such a privilege to help students transform academically, socially and spiritually from the first day of the year to the last.”
Aileen Schwab feels that teaching is what she is called to do. Joining the CtR Catholic School staff in 2019-20, Aileen and her husband are making the trek from Indiana to become Houstonians and join the CtRCS family.
Aileen grew up in Dayton, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, with minors in Biology and Mathematics, from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind. In 2016. After receiving her bachelor’s, she worked as a 5th grade teacher in South Bend, Ind. for one year and then 1st grade until 2019. In spring 2019, she was named one of the “30 under 30 Literacy Educational Leaders of Tomorrow”
She said coming to Christ the Redeemer is “an answered prayer” as she and her husband contemplated and prayed a move to Houston for a long time. She said CtRCS was an immediate fit. She is looking forward to joining the Christ the Redeemer community as a parishioner as well. In South Bend, she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Adoration Club and the coach for the Girls on the Run Club. She even spent two summers in Houston in 2015 and 2016 as a counselor for the Kidventure Summer Camp.
Aileen and her husband Ryan are both teachers and were married in 2018. They live in Towne Lake and both enjoy the outdoors and traveling.
