Only two days in, we've had an eventful
Catholic Schools Week! Our students, faculty and staff were present at Mass on Sunday, Jan. 28 and today, we celebrated Career Day. CtRCS parents led the way as they shared their careers with our students. They talked about their specific job, how they incorporate S.T.R.E.A.M. (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and math) and how they live out their faith in the work place.
See a full list below and a big thank you to all the parents able to participate!
Pre-K Gabriel Gutierrez, is an attorney and spoke with to our Pre-K students. He was great with the kids! He talked about having a strong Catholic faith foundation to help people and taught them about moral compass and how he incorporates S.T.R.E.A.M. with his job.
Kindergarten and 1st grade
First grade started the day facetiming Ms. Pye's sister, Allison, who is in her residency as a dermatology intern. She explained how skin is the largest organ in the body and protects all other organs. She also explained how she examines moles and the importance of sun screen to reduce chances of skin cancer.
Enrique Perez is an architect. He explained how he starts every day with prayer to assist him in his job. The students had great questions about structure and stability, making twisted windows and building around trees.
Kindergarten and 1st grade ended career day learning about being a pediatric nurse from
Amy Wallace. She talked about all the important things nurses do to help us stay healthy and become healthy when we are sick. She also showed us some of the tools she uses to comfort patients including bubbles! She told us about a prayer called the blessings of the hands that they do on Nurse's Day and other times when needed.
