In consultation with Fr. Sean Horrigan, the pastor of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston’s Catholic Schools Office, we have made the decision to close Christ the Redeemer Catholic School for the week of March 16-20 for all students and faculty/staff.
This also corresponds to the decision of the local Cy-Fair Independent School District and keeps all of us in the Cypress and Northwest Houston area on the same page while this ongoing public health crisis is addressed.
While no cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in our school or parish community, we make this decision out of an abundance of caution with regard to the health and safety of our students, their families, and the larger community.
At this time, this closing is only in place for next week. In the event that we should need to extend the time away from school beyond next week, we will let you know as soon as possible. The administrative team of CtRCS is already at work with our faculty and staff to create online learning opportunities, just in case. If an extended period off campus becomes necessary, we will be ready with a plan to ensure the continued academic growth of all of our students.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. It's a fluid situation and we promise to keep you updated as soon as we have additional information.
Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Courtney and Mrs. Serey if you have any questions or concerns. Above all, please let your children know of our great care and concern for them. We will miss them next week, and look forward to the day when we’ll all be back in our school home.
May God bless all the sick, both locally and throughout the world, and give strength to all who care for them in these difficult days.
