Today for Catholic Schools Week, we celebrate our nation! We invited active military, veterans and first responders to our school.
They enjoyed a great breakfast this morning, while spending time telling stories and talking about their time in the service to each other. Then the whole school celebrated as they walked in a parade around the school. Our Student Council representatives led the way. The students waved American flags and shouted, "Thank you!" and handed them special cards. A wonderful time was had by all!
After the parade, some of the service men and women visited classrooms to say hello and discuss their service.
The
National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) says, "On National Appreciation Day for Catholic schools, students, families, educators and other Catholic school supporters communicate the value of Catholic education to government leaders. They share information with leaders on the significant contributions Catholic schools make to the nation and their role in preparing students to be good citizens. They pray for the nation and recognize all those who serve it."
Thank you to all who visited CtRCS today and for those who serve Cypress, Houston and our nation!
