Congratulations to third-grade teacher
Kelly Murphy who received certification through the National Institute for STEM Education. Mrs. Murphy is the fifth teacher to earn this achievement among the group of educators at Christ the Redeemer Catholic School working toward the certification.
CtRCS continues to work on its certification as teachers and campus administration actively engage in professional development and training to add a nationally recognized certificate to their teaching credentials.
Mrs. Murphy said her biggest takeaway from the certification process is the importance of analyzing lessons from different perspectives and that by looking at her plans from different angles, she can better identify how to strengthen her lessons to best fit her students. Sometimes the smallest change can make the largest difference in the classroom.
"I am a lifelong learner, and by completing this program I am able to show my students that there is always more to learn and ways to improve ourselves," she said.
Mrs. Murphy said she looks forward to continuing to implement the new skills she has learned in her planning of classroom activities, both big and small.
