Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Celebrates Lisa Sansbury as First-Ever School Winner of the Sally Landram Excellence in Education Award
Christ the Redeemer Catholic School (CtRCS) proudly announces that faculty member Lisa Sansbury has been awarded the prestigious Sally Landram Excellence in Education Award for 2024 by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Catholic Schools Office. Sansbury is the first nominee and winner of this esteemed award from CtRCS, marking a significant milestone for the school community.
The Sally Landram Excellence in Education Award recognizes outstanding educators within the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston who demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and leadership in Catholic education. Sansbury, who has served at CtRCS and within the Archdiocese for eight years, embodies these qualities through her tireless commitment to her students' academic and spiritual growth.
"Lisa's passion for teaching and her unwavering dedication to her students set her apart in our school community," said Nathaniel Wooten, Director at Camp Kappe, who worked with the CtRCS administrative team to nominate Sansbury. "She not only excels in the classroom but also inspires students and colleagues alike with her leadership and commitment to Catholic values."
Beyond her classroom duties, Sansbury leads several school initiatives, including the Gardening Club, and plays a pivotal role in organizing the Red Ribbon Week. Her innovative approach to integrating STEM education within ELA and Social Studies has furthered CtRCS's STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) efforts, making learning both exciting and relevant for her students.
She is a STEM-certified teacher through the National Institute of STEM Education and in the 2024-25 school year will use her skills to create innovative evangelical practices as the Middle School Theology Teacher and school Religion Coordinator.
"Everything she takes on is driven by a passion and commitment that profoundly shapes our students,” said CtRCS Principal Dan Courtney. “Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching on Care for Creation and Stewardship of the Earth, her love for God's Earth inspires initiatives like recycling programs, our gardening club, and student service projects, passing down these vital virtues to her students."
This award not only honors Sansbury's exceptional contributions but also highlights the growing recognition of Christ the Redeemer Catholic School as a center for educational excellence within the archdiocese.
