Our 2nd Grade Poet-tea Shows Artistic Skills

April is National Poetry month and 2nd grade sets this time aside to celebrate poets and their craft! Each writing block started with a daily poetry “battle” by listening to two different poems from famous authors each day, voting on the favorite, and then ultimately choosing the class favorite!

Our resident poets each created nine different styles of poetry from haikus to diamanté’s to create their own collections. We wrapped up the month by celebrating our success with our families by reciting self-selected poems for our annual “Poet-tea.”
