Today we celebrated vocations for Catholic Schools Week! Clergy from
Christ the Redeemer, the
Legionaries of Christ and the
Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston joined us. They visited classrooms and shared their vocation stories with students. Many students had wonderful questions to ask them too. They also visited with the students at lunch.
Those who visited were:
Deacon Lupe Trevino, Christ the Redeemer
Deacon Jay Gause, Christ the Redeemer
Jacob Ramirez, Seminarian for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston
Deacon Jared Loehr, Legionaries of Christ
Father Matthew Schmitz, Legionaries of Christ
The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) says that, "By focusing on faith, knowledge and service, Catholic schools prepare children to use their God-given talents to the fullest later in life. National Catholic Schools Week offers an opportunity for students to explore the many life paths that enable them to use their talents well in the service of God and others."
Exploring vocations with those already in service and action shows our students how they too can serve God and others. Those who visited really engaged with the students and students enjoyed their special visitors for Catholic Schools Week.
As well as learning more about vocations, the school prayed the rosary together to continue to pray for CtRCS and Catholic education in our nation.
