Parents of CtR Catholic School students share highlights from their experience with us.
This school is absolutely amazing. Not only is my child progressing academically, but also very spiritually. The community that this school fosters is very kind. All of the students are very helpful to each other. My first impression was carline. The principal was put in carline with the teachers helping. Not only that, she is out there every single day. Says a lot about the leadership, top down everyone helps.
My son Pressley is in Mrs. Wetwiski's Kindergarten class this year. He is my first born so this is my first experience sending my child off to "big" school. :) I just wanted to say thanks to you and your staff. There is no doubt in my mind that Pressley is in the right place, the very best place. He had a few struggles the first few days with recognizing he is the smallest in class (and has always struggled with this) but it blows my mind that the sad, self-conscious talk has changed so quickly. This week, at pick up, I see a huge smile. He is eager to tell me all that he learned and everyone he met. The excitement and confidence I am seeing is so wonderful. We are focusing on being "bucket fillers" at home and soaking up all that Pressley is teaching us.
My husband and I attended Catholic school K-12 and I don't think we fully appreciated that education until now, watching our son start the journey. It is truly heart warming and such a peaceful feeling knowing that he will be at CtR for the years to come. I just wanted you to know that, from a mom struggling to "cut the cord," you and the teachers are doing it right and well and I appreciate it.
First and foremost he is excited and learning about our Catholic faith EVERY day. While he has always been a good student, we now find him wanting to learn, wanting to read, wanting to write, wanting to share about his day. We very much attribute that to the individualized learning enhancements that he is provided through the use of technology in the classroom and the excellent teaching staff who are able to engage the students and implement the curriculum in meaningful ways.
Finally, he comes home and he talks about things like being kind, helping others, and teaching his little sister about how to be a bucket filler rather than a bucket dipper. This is the “more” we had hoped for in a Catholic education and it is exactly what we have found at Christ the Redeemer Catholic School.
My husband and I have children in fourth and fifth grade this school year (2015-16). Both of our girls love using their individual Chromebook at school and enjoy bringing them home to finish assignments, collaborate with peers on a group project, etc. There's something about completing your homework on a laptop that motivates them to get their homework done! The girls also love the S.T.R.E.A.M. activities that they participate in on a regular basis and learning Spanish; not only the language, but the culture too!
